Speaker: Mark Van Kleunen – Skyway Cement

Program Title: “Improving Concrete Performance with Slag Cement”

Mark Van Kleunen will cover how slag cement increases concrete strengths, improves durability and permeability, mitigates ASR and sulfate attack and reduces heat in mass concrete applications.  He will also touch on the Slag Cement Assoc. (SCA) website and sustainability.

Mark Van Kleunen is currently a Technical Sales Engineer with Skyway Cement.  Previously, he was Director of Field Engineering for CeraTech and a Technical Services Manager with Holcim, Lehigh, Cemex and Riverside Cement with 30 years of experience in the cement and concrete industry. He has been involved in promoting slag cement in concrete applications for the past 20 years. He has a BSCE, MBA and LEED AP. He has held positions in other ACI chapters and ACI nationally.
